Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how "Booth Game NPC" (the "Bot") collects, uses, and protects information from users ("Users" or "you").

By using the Bot, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Information we Collect

The Bot collects and stores the following information to provide its services:

• Discord User ID: A unique identifier assigned by Discord to track your game progress and leaderboard standings
• Usernames: Fetched from Discord's API for leaderboard display purposes only
• Game Game Command Answers: Your responses to guessing game questions
• Game Game Command Progress: Which questions you have answered and your accuracy

The Bot also collects and stores the following informations to provide its services to Discord guilds (the "Servers"):

• Servers IDs: To store server-specific settings
• Server Settings: Preferences set by server administrators (e.g., content moderation settings)

The Bot does NOT collect the following information:

• Messages, personal information, email addresses, or any data beyond what is listed above
• Screenshot images are not stored on the server, they are instead linked from other websites (eg. Filegarden)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

• Track your progress in the guessing game
• Display leaderboards showing user performance
• Maintain server-specific settings configured by administrators
• Provide core Bot functionality (screenshot browsing, game features)

We do NOT:

• Sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties
• Use your data for advertising or marketing purposes
• Share your data with anyone except as required by law

3. Data Storage and Security

• All data is stored in JSON files
• Data is stored in a minified format to optimize performance
• User IDs are stored as Discord-provided identifiers, not personally identifiable information
• There is no personally identifiable information in the files, they can strictly only be used for Discord User IDs

4. Data Retention

• Game Progress Data: Retained indefinitely unless you request deletion
• Server Settings: Retained as long as the Bot remains in the server
• Deleted Data: When you delete a conversation with the Bot or leave all servers with the Bot, your associated data may still be retained, like your game progress data, but anything else like your conversations will not be saved.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data: Request to see what data we have stored about you, this can include game progress data (which can be accessed neatly in the /guessgame overview command), screenshots, etc
• Delete your data: Request complete deletion of your data from our systems
• Opt-out: Stop using the Bot at any time

6. Data Deletion Requests

To request deletion of your data:

1. Contact the Bot Owner through Discord (@agentn86)
2. Provide your Discord User ID (this can be done with Developer Mode on discord and right clicking your profile)
3. Your data will be removed within 30 days

Server administrators can delete server-specific data by removing the Bot from their server.

7. Third-Party Services

The Bot uses Discord's API to function. Please review Discord's Privacy Policy at https://discord.com/privacy for information on how Discord handles data.

The Bot does not integrate with any other third-party services that collect user data.

8. Children's Privacy

The Bot does not knowingly collect information from users under the age of 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the Bot. Per Discord's Terms of Service, if we discover that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted with an updated "Effective Date" at the bottom of this document. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

10. International Users

The Bot is operated from the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that information we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
